My client requires an Eclipse * Java Developer for a 12 month contract. The role is based in North Dublin. Contract rates for 12 months!!
Essential Skills and Experience:
3-5 years an analyst * programmer - no more than 6 months since skills last used - in a reasonable number of the following:
· Java, JDBC (demonstrable Java experience is a core requirement)
· Plain Web and more fully featured J2EE application development (on IBM or non-IBM platforms)
· XML related technologies - XSLT, XSD, DTD etc
· Application User Interface design and implementation (e.g. SWING, SWT)
· Eclipse development: Plug-ins, SWT and EMF
· Formal OO design methodologies and UML,
· IDE, Visual Development Tools, Team Development Environment, Source Code Management Systems
· Must have worked through at least 1 full software product development life-cycle,
· Must have ability and willingness to take a component design and progress it through to development and test and delivery,
· Team player - mature and disciplined attitude
· Strong communication skills
· Proven ability to perform under pressure
Desirable Skills and Experience: (should already have or demonstrate ability to learn quickly)
Enterprise Java technologies: EJB, JMS, etc
Open Source alternatives to and collaborators with J2EE
Design Pattern Awareness, particularly with regard to J2EE
DB2, SQL
Linux and Microsoft Office productivity tools
Qualifications:
Computer Science Degree * Diploma from recognized college or university
